Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Psychology, WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY (2018).

Master of Social Work, UNIVERSITY OF UTAH (2022).

Sam specializes in working with adults and adolescents as they navigate difficulties relating to depression, anxiety, social anxiety, self-esteem, body image, and gender identity. He has been specifically trained in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and approaches therapy from the humanistic, behavioral, and psychodynamic perspectives.

During his undergraduate, Sam gained 5+ years of experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, as well as mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and ADD/ADHD, at Utah Behavior Services. This also involved working closely with families and parents in helping them to develop healthy skills in communicating and parenting with their child. During his graduate degree, he continued to work with adolescents at UTBS and went on to provide substance use and mental health treatment to adults in recovery at Davis Behavioral Health.

Sam is passionate about film and film journalism. He has found processing the art form to be beneficial in his personal development and has an ever growing collection of Blu-rays. He enjoys reading novels and comic books, running, listening to records, spending time with loved ones, and candle shopping!
