Master of Social Work, UNIVERSITY OF UTAH (2022).
Sam specializes in working with adults and adolescents as they navigate difficulties relating to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, body image, and gender identity. Specified areas of expertise also include working with individuals seeking to build the skills necessary for effective communication so that they create and maintain healthy relationships, navigating life transitions, and managing social anxiety. He has been specifically trained in Motivational Interviewing, Mind-Body Bridging, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and approaches therapy from the humanistic, behavioral, and psychodynamic perspectives.
During his undergraduate degree he gained 5+ years of experience working closely with families and parents at Utah Behavior Services, helping to develop healthy skills in communicating and parenting with their child. During his graduate degree, he went on to provide substance use and mental health treatment to adults in recovery at Davis Behavioral Health.
When he isn’t working, he enjoys cooking, watching movies, running, record shopping, watching Denver Broncos games, and spending time with loved ones (including his cat, Zelda).
