Philosophy

“Taking the first step into therapy can be overwhelming and scary. But I believe everyone can benefit from having a dedicated partner in their mental health journey. Whether dealing with everyday ups and downs or working through a specific obstacle, therapy can give you the tools to create the life you want.”

“My goal for every client is to create a safe environment where every client feels seen and heard. Therapy is a collaboration between therapist and client where we can work together to overcome past challenges, determine values to live by, and set goals for the future.”

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY (2014).

Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling CAPELLA UNIVERSITY (2023).

Before entering counseling, Richie spent nearly seven years working as a stockbroker. During his career in finance, Richie developed a love for helping people to meet their financial goals. While working through the stress of such a high-pressured career, Richie discovered his true life’s purpose in mental health and, in 2020, took the leap and went back to school to become a counselor.

Richie utilizes a person-centered approach that values empathy, unconditional positivity, and genuine interactions. He uses cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy emphasizing mindfulness to help bring about change in sessions. He truly believes that every individual, couple, or family has the tools to overcome personal obstacles and thrive in the life they envision. Richie is confident that he can help his clients with any issue and has experience overcoming depression and anxiety, LGBTQ issues, life and faith transitions, and career burnout.

Richie has been married for ten years to his sweetheart and is the uncle to eight nieces and nephews. Richie is a dog lover and is a proud dog dad to a six-year-old miniature schnauzer named Jack. When not at work, you can find Richie spending time with family and friends, rooting for the New York Yankees and Utah Jazz, hiking in the mountains, playing board and video games, and trying out the newest restaurant.
