Philosophy

“I have a strong belief that clinicians and clients are in a partnership. The path to healing is dicult and it takes being vulnerable and great trust in your therapist to be able to reach your ultimate therapeutic goals. I believe that every person has the ability to heal and grow. It is the best feeling in the world to see people become the best versions of themselves.”

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY (1995).

Masters of Science in Mental Health Therapy, UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX (2007).

Paul believes that therapists are like fine wine, The older we get, the better we become. Humor and the ability to laugh can be very therapeutic. So sit back, buckle up and watch Paul’s amazing sense of humor and extreme sarcasm keep you on the edge of your seat the entire session!

On a serious note, Paul believes that his life experiences give him a unique perspective on life and how he relates to his clients. Paul was raised in a large family and at a young age had to learn how to work with others to accomplish his goals. He has carried this attitude into his work with his clients. He believes that the relationship with his clients is a partnership, where they work together to assist his clients on the journey of healing.

Paul has an extensive background working with adults, teens, families and couples. Paul began his career in the Juvenile Probation Department working with and counseling teens and families with various situations including anxiety, depression, addictions, LGBTQ and trauma. Paul has used these experiences to transition into working with adults and couples searching for a path to healing from life’s many struggles. Paul has extensive training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Trauma Focused Therapy.

When Paul is not hard at work trying to make his co-workers laugh or spending time with his kids and grandchildren you can catch him watching his favorite sports teams (Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners and Utah Jazz). He can also be found working on his one true passion, cars and motorcycles. Most weekends you will find him underneath a car, at a car show or hoping the weather is good so he can go for a ride. A word of warning though, you very well might hear stories of the newest and latest tools on the market or how he busted his knuckles on a rusty bolt!
