Patty has worked in education for the last 17 years. She has worked as a counselor in various roles such as guidance counselor, Student and Family Advocate, and most recently as a counselor for Special Education students. She also has experience with Early Childhood Intervention and crisis assessment. Her various roles have provided her with the opportunity to work with both children and parents, both inside and outside of the school setting.
Patty has a heart for kids, especially those with special needs or behavior struggles. She believes that working with these children and their families helps to pave the road to success as they journey into adulthood. She uses play therapy techniques to help give children a voice. Patty also uses a Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach when working with adults to help re-frame negative thinking, identify patters of unhelpful behavior, and develop coping skills to address negative thoughts and behaviors.
Patty is a native Texan, but loves being in the mountains of Utah. When she is not in the office, she loves to spend time with her husband and 2 children. She also loves to read and go walking or hiking.
