MEIGAN BERRY
CSW
Certified Social Worker
Philosophy
“Carl Jung stated, “What we resist, persists.” The more we fight and avoid our emotions, struggles and difficulties, the bigger they feel and the more they take control of our lives. I believe that when we have safe and supportive relationships and spaces to explore our most difficult challenges, we are able to more clearly see the path to healing and growth. I’ve come to view the therapeutic relationship as one of synergy and collaboration that is
built on safety and trust. A relationship that I believe is designed to support individuals in finding their answers and truth.”

Meigan’s experiences have fostered a special interest in working with individuals with attachment wounds, chronic mental illness, and children and adolescents with varying mental health and behavioral needs. Much of Meigan’s professional experience has been
in crisis work and inpatient behavioral health with individuals in all ages and stages of life, with a particular emphasis in treating chronic mental illness, self-harm and suicidal ideation.
Growing up as an international transracial adoptee and the child of a US Naval Officer who moved every 2 years for most of her childhood, Meigan has unique insights into the role attachment plays in our lives and relationships. She practices from a trauma informed and
attachment based lens, often utilizing ACT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing and somatic based interventions. She firmly believes that the therapeutic relationship offers the opportunity for us to experience connection and change in a safe and supportive
environment and views it as an incredible privilege, honor and responsibility.
Outside the office, Meigan enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys. One of her favorite things to do is read memoirs to experience people’s thoughts, insights, and journey’s through life (and of course reading has to be paired with a cozy blanket, dim
lighting, and a Diet Coke). Of all the things in life, her greatest joy is traveling with the people she loves and finding glimmers of joy in each new place she explores.
