Philosophy

“I think the Dalai Lama summed it up wonderfully when he said, ‘Everyone wants to be happy.’ Discovering where happiness comes from and how to create it is what we all want. Instead, we often find ourselves stuck. In therapy, we will work on identifying what your strengths and challenges are, along with what you truly value. This will become our guidebook throughout your journey. I will offer you tools to direct and work with your thoughts and feelings so that you can progress rather than remain stuck. We will explore the stories you have held fast to, where they came from, and decide if they are helpful or holding you back from honoring your values and hopes for life.”

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Marriage & Family Studies, BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY (2020).

Master of Social Sciences in Social Work, UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY (2023).

Jennifer’s life prepared her for her career as a therapist. Her life experience with the joys and struggles in relationships, along with the challenges and opportunities of caring for her own and foster children, has shaped her journey. While working with AmeriCorps, Jennifer focused on teens and families in crisis in the high school setting. Jennifer’s work with Family Services and in private practice included working with women healing from abuse, couples facing relationship conflict, teens finding their purpose, and individuals just feeling stuck.

Jennifer focuses her practice on individuals and couples learning to love and accept themselves, working on nurturing their relationships, healing after divorce, addiction, and mental illness. She utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in helping clients to feel heard and validated. Her clients are able to recognize that they have choice in their challenges, love themselves enough to be open to new opportunities, and dare to move forward.

Jennifer loves people. She loves their stories, their journeys, and their courage. She is also a big believer in balance. So, when she is not engaged in therapy, you will usually find her outside in the garden soaking up the sunshine, or in her kitchen cooking delicious food. Jennifer loves to play with her growing family (including three grandchildren) outdoors, camping, four-wheeling, or playing at the beach.
