Philosophy

“Life can be beautiful and life can be brutal. Whether you are struggling with a difficult experience or difficult emotions you are not alone. Healing and hope are always available to you but you might need some help finding them under everything you are carrying.”

“I believe in healing through safety, connection, and support and that everyone has within them the power to improve their circumstances, reach their potential and live their best life. You can find peace and happiness when you are empowered with the skills and techniques to positively change your life and let go of the heavy things you are carrying.”

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Social Work, WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY (2022).

Master of Social Work, WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY (2023).

Betsy’s favorite word is empowerment when it comes to healing and therapy. When a person can find clarity and recognize that they have choices (even small ones) it gives them the power to change their circumstances. She has worked with teens, adults, and couples that struggle with everything from communication issues to trauma. She uses a client’s own strengths and desires coupled with her education, knowledge, and intuition to help them transform their lives and create the future they want.

Betsy has always been one to connect with others to offer a listening ear, nonjudgmental support, hope, and to be their biggest cheerleader. Throughout her life she has often said, “It’s who I am. I’m a therapist, I just don’t have a degree.” Well now she has a degree. She spent her undergrad years working with victims of domestic violence and helping them live a life free from abuse. In her graduate program she worked in a private practice helping clients that experience anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other challenges. She has a heart for this work and an openminded perspective that allows for
unique solutions to many of life’s hardships.

Betsy is a very client-centered therapist and believes that different things work for different people so there is no one certain way to find solutions, heal, and feel peace. What works for you works for you even if it doesn’t work for anyone else. She uses a trauma-informed approach and pulls from several different modalities to find what works including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and EMDR.

When she is not in the office you can find Betsy in the mountains. Nature is her therapy and she feels so lucky to live so close them. She loves to mountain bike and even started a “mountain biker gang”. She also loves to hike, paddle board, go horseback riding, BBQ, drink her coffee on the back deck, watch the sunset, and just enjoy a simple life. She has a fur baby named Nina that is full grown at only 4 pounds but has the heart of a lion and goes on all of Betsy’s adventures with her. She has crazy hair, is pure sunshine and makes Betsy smile every day. If you saw her you would smile too.
