Master of Social Work, BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY (2020).

Amber has experience working with people from many different backgrounds. This work includes trauma related issues, addiction and recovery, victims of violent crimes, first responders, and children and families involved with child protective services and foster care. Through these roles she has worked with people across all ages and various therapeutic settings, helping them to walk the path to recovery and mental wellness. Amber has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and families.

Amber offers a person-centered approach and trusts that people are the experts of their life and takes the clients direction. She works at her client’s pace and offers a safe space to explore without judgement. She pulls from many treatment modalities including TFCBT, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness practices, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

Amber listens to her client’s stories and helps them understand their stories, offering insight and perspective for growth and change. Amber is a human first, and therapist second and understands that good outcomes are often related to the relationship between client and therapist. Growth is fostered by connection with other humans, and we can’t do it alone and isolated. Amber works to stay true to her authentic self and strives to create a safe space for her clients to do the same. Amber brings to the therapeutic process humor, authenticity, safety, and a love for psychological theory and practice.

In her free time, you can find Amber cheering for her boys at sporting events, relaxing in and exploring the great outdoors, enjoying live music, and working on projects in her home. Amber is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have three active teenage boys. Amber has always found connecting with people on a personal level to be the most rewarded aspect of her work.
