EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Family & Human Development, Utah State University (2002).

Master of Arts In Marriage & Family Therapy, University of Connecticut (2007).

Stephanie Carbajal’s clinical experience includes intensive inpatient treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah and McKay Dee Hospital psychiatric department. A majority of her experience has been focused on treating children, adolescents, adults, and couples with a wide variety of emotional challenges in outpatient settings, including her private practice, LDS Family Services, and the Northville (Michigan) Counseling Center.

Stephanie specializes in treating children and adolescents with challenges including: anxiety, depression, OCD, abuse, family stressors, behavioral disruptions, and more. She completed extensive post-graduate training through The Rocky Mountain Play Institute (Banff, Canada). Her clinical experience includes conducting play therapy with children ages 3-11, and expressive / talk therapy for adolescents. She believes in helping children and adolescents heal through self-discovery, expression, and symbolic play.

Stephanie also provides extensive clinical work for couples with marital strain, and men and women experiencing a wide variety of emotional and relationship challenges. She utilizes Emotion-Focused and Solution Focused therapy techniques to create a safe therapeutic space for couples and individuals to work through life’s most challenging problems.

Outside the office, Stephanie has put her extracurricular hobbies on hold (for the moment), to chase after her two delightful, firecracker daughters, from sun-up to sun-down. She loves nothing more than to snuggle on the sofa with her husband each night after her little ones have finally gone to bed!
