Philosophy
“I believe you already carry the answers to your own life within you and it takes real courage to sit with someone and start uncovering them. I hold space for whatever you’re feeling, without judgment, as we gently untangle the thought patterns and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck, and help you reconnect with what matters most to you. Healing unfolds through honest insight, self-compassion, and a relationship where you feel genuinely seen and safe. I see myself not as an expert with all the answers, but as a steady guide walking beside you, honoring the pace that’s right for you.”

Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Interpersonal Communication, UNIVERSITY OF UTAH (2002).
Master of Social Work, UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY (2027).
Twenty-plus years after her last diploma, Amber decided it was time to go back to school. It was terrifying, but also one of the best decisions she’s ever made. That leap was fueled by something she’d carried with her for years: a genuine fascination with personal development and human behavior, and the way our stories shape who we become. Along the way, one truth reshaped how she sees people entirely — self-compassion isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s the foundation everything else is built on. That belief is what ultimately led Amber to social work, and it’s the lens she brings into every single session.
Amber works primarily with teens, young adults, and women, using an approach that blends CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and MI (Motivation Interviewing). She tailors this blend to each client, giving them practical, real-world tools while staying flexible enough to meet them exactly where they are. Before starting her internship, Amber spent time as a School Social Worker in the Ogden School District, where she got a front-row seat to just how resilient (and refreshingly honest) teenagers can be. That experience only deepened her love for working with this age group.
Amber doesn’t believe therapy has to feel clinical or intimidating. She brings warmth, humor, and a genuine belief in her clients’ ability to grow, because she knows firsthand what it feels like to be scared to start something new, and to do it anyway.
Outside the office, Amber is a mom of four, most often found on the sidelines of a mountain bike race course cheering herself hoarse. She and her husband love to travel whenever they can sneak away, and at home you’ll find her perfecting gluten-free recipes (ask anyone — her gluten-free baking is no joke), losing herself in a true crime documentary, or trying to talk someone into a game night, preferably one that involves mahjong.
